ACCIDENT/INCIDENT REPORTS

The inspection is intended to insure that the vehicle is road worthy and can be operated safely and also that the Vehicle Identification Number and the mileage on the vehicle is correct. The staff of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office is certified by the State of Kentucky to perform these inspections.

Kentucky State Law requires all vehicles purchased in another state to be inspected by the Sheriff in the County where the vehicle is to be licensed. Inspections are also required on all salvage titles prior to application for a rebuilt title.

All accident/incident reports are available at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Reports are available within 5-7 days after incident. All reports are $2.00 each and must be paid at the time of pick up or before a report can be faxed. Any accident or incident worked by Kentucky State Police or Lebanon Police Department must be picked up at that agency.
