The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the security of all Circuit, District, Juvenile and Family Courts as well as the common areas in the building in which they are held. Additionally, the Court Security staff an electronic surveillance station and handle the daily movement and transportation of prisoners scheduled for court appearances.
 
 
What to expect upon entering the Judicial Center:
 
The following items must be removed before proceeding through the metal detectors:
 
·       Keys
·       Wallets
·       Coins
·       Cellular Phones/Pagers
·       Cigarettes
·       Lighters
·       Any foil packages
·       Batteries
·       Watches
·       Metal belt buckles
 
If after removing these items, you set off the metal detector, you may be scanned with a metal detector wand.
 
·       Please advise officers if you are wearing steel toed shoes
·       Advise officers of any medical conditions that would prohibit you from passing through a metal detector.
 
 
 
 
The following items should be left in your vehicle if you are visiting the Judicial Center. You will not be allowed to enter with items that are prohibited. 
 
Items Not Allowed in court:
 
·       GUNS
·       KNIVES
·       BOX CUTTERS
·       HAND CUFF KEYS
·       TOOLS
·       GLASS BOTTLES
·       UNAUTHORIZED BADGES
·       SHARP ITEMS OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT CAN BE USED AS A WEAPON
